I was watching youtube last night when there was this loud lightning that cause a powersurge.. When I turned my PC back on, I wasn't able to connect to the internet anymore and there is this red X thing in the bottom right corner of my monitor saying "Not connected - No connections available". I am not knowledgeable guy about computers, so I googled possible fix about this and still no luck.. Can someone please help me about this, I'm trying to download NBA 2k15 T_T...

what I've tried:
- Turn off PC, and unplug the power..
- checked device manager but there was no "Network Adapters" there
- I unplug my network cable and use it to my laptop and its working (that's what I'm using right now).. so i believe the problem is not the internet or the network cable..
- I downloaded drivers and installed it but this thing pops up after instalation. "The Realtek Network Controller was not found. If Deep Sleep Mode is enabled please plug the cable" I don't understand what does that mean.
- I also did this --> command prompt type "ping 127.0.0.1"
the result was this --> "Packets: Sent=4, Receive=4, Lost=0".. On a forum it says NIC should be working if that is the rusult.

I really don't what to do next. anyone please help.. btw my motherboard is:
Gigabyte GA-880GM-D2H

there is no light..

Your ethernet adapter on your mobo appears to be fried.....you will either need to replace the mobo or buy a network adapter. The mobo will be a more expensive replacement - but there could be other issues on the mobo that may not be apparent right now....an ethernet adapter is about $10-$25.
