You shouldn't need any drivers to install windows 7 except in rare situations and usually involving RAID arrays. Is this a new drive you are trying to install on? If so, do you still have your old installation? What is the actual problem you are having?

the problem here is this when i go to install windows 7 on a blank hard drive i get this message "setup was unable to creat a new system partition or locate an existing system partition. See the setup log files for more information." and also " windows cannot be installed to this disk. the computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.

Two things to try, depending on whether you have a UEFI BIOS and are using AHCI or SATA controllers for the drive or have an older BIOS and are using IDE controllers. Start by going into the BIOS and determining which. More than likely you need to create a partition using the Windows 7 installation disk which is explained at the link below.

Are you trying to install windows from inside windows, or from a boot up operation using the installation disk?

You might want to download and run the Western digital hard drive diagnostic to see if the drive is failing or has failed. You can run the program via USB device such as USB hard drive or flash drive. It works on all brands.
