I was wondering if I would be able to overclock my FX 8320 from the stock 3.5 ghz to 4.0 ghz, which is basically the 8350. I've heard the msi 760gma-p34(fx) is not good for overclocking but since the 8350 should be supported by the board and the 8320 is only a underclocked 8350, could I overclock it to a 8350? Maybe a cpu cooler to recommend too?
Full Specs:
Case:NZXT Source 210 w/Side Window
CPU: AMD FX-Series Eight-Core FX-8320 Processor 3.5 GHz
RAM: 8 GB DDR3
Hard Drive: 1 TB 7200 rpm
SPU: Radeon HD7750 1GB

Don't know the exact product names so sorry

Hello,

Please don't do any overclocking on your system, your motherboard and also your PSU are not made for that (FX 8320 has 125W TDP, so over 10A/+12V; taking into account the rest of the system, the PSU should have at least 20Amps for +12V rail, which is unlikely, unless you have a gold-certified PSU).

If you still want to take your chances on overclocking, go for a new PSU, a cooler which fit your case and an additional fan for cooling the VRMs (the best solution is to also add some heatsinks on top of the VRM chips).

First upgrade the psu a corsair vs 650 watt it's okay then take an air cooller with push pull and add a heatsink on vrms if is necessary. Go in bios in your motherboard change the turbocore to 4 GHz because is set at 3.7 then use amd override and let it test and overclock your fx 8320 it will stop at 4GHz . I had a fx 8320 on msi 760ga p43 fx no problems, just socket was hot nothing scary. Do not play with voltages on that mobo do not pass 4GHz. I still have fx 8320 but on msi 990fxa gd65 at 4.5GHz 1.472 VCRs, I wanted more power for my r9 290.
