So I installed a Pentium D 960 3.6G LGA775 4M L2 cache Dual Core SL9AP into my old Asus P5LD2 Deluxe Mobo. Boot it up and I get Bios Error #ffff. So I try flashing the bios via CD cause I don't have a floppy using EZ Flash. It reads the CD and says "P5LD2E.ROM does not exist" so I rename the one that I got from the Asus website to "P5LD2E" and burn it to another CD. Now it says "Reading file P5LD2E.ROM from disk" Then 3 secs later "P5LD2E.ROM does not exist!" It does this on a loop. Anyone have any idea what I should do? I'm trying to install an OS but it will not let me. Steps to do it all from USB? Or a link to an explanation?

Extract the zipped file copy it to a flash drive. Go into the BIOS. Go to ez flash. Point it to the file. Flash it

Wait for it to finish

What is windows saying if youre trying to install it. Use BIOS 0603 not the latest. Since its a beta and it can be buggy

My EZ flash doesn't let me select anything. It automatically boots and does whatever, no selecting. That's how long it's been since the bios have been flashed. I extracted the file and burnt it to a CD, but like I said it says it's reading it and then it says that it cannot be read.

Well looks like you have to rename it to P5LD2E.ROM according to the manual. But you can only use a floppy for ez flash

But it should work with the CD. Only other thing you can do is make a bootable flash drive somehow. And put afudos and the BIOS on it

I have a floppy in that rig, but not in my current rig so no way to get the file on the floppy. I renamed it before I put it on the CD. Do you know how to or a program that makes the floppy bootable?

If you want I can send you a zipped file with bootdisk stuff on it. Using teamviewer. www.teamviewer.com

If you install this give me the ID and password it gives you. In a PM

We can see if that works. After you copy the files to the flash drive

I have the bootdisk files thanks though. Trying to use the HP USB disk storage format tool but it only allows me to format in FAT and NTFS no FAT32

Should be OK in FAT. Thats if it'll boot after. Dont forget to put the BIOS update and afudos on it

No it won't boot. BIOS gives me the option to select the usb to boot from, but it just skips over it like there's nothing there

You'll have to find a floppy then see if that works. Did it boot into the command prompt at all?

I have a floppy (and a drive) just no way to get the files on it because the mobo in my specs has no floppy connection, and all the files are on this computer. No it didnt
