I've been having some major difficulties with my system and Windows update. It was going fine until I replaced the processor and motherboard and did a full reformat of the drive. I was running an AMD FX-8320 and switched to a Pentium G3258 and MSI H81 motherboard. During Windows update, it will update like normal. But when I restart it will hang at 0% for update for at least five minutes, then it will say "Fail to apply Windows updates, reverting changes". And it has done this on more than one occasion. Is there a remedy for this? Do I need to do a full reformat of Windows 7?

But that doesn't explain "Fail to apply updates, reverting changes". And it's happening now every time I turn on the computer. Argh!
