my current rig is i3 540,gigabyte r7 260x oc 2gig,6gig ram,500gb hdd.i'm planning to upgrade my cpu, motherboard, psu.i was thinking upgrade my cpu to i5 4460,but some reviews say i3 4150 do a grate job in gaming.not better than i5. but it is not noticeably better. so i'm in a budget therefore i like to go with the i3 instead of the i5. so does i3 handle my rig in future games without any trouble?

Your i3 should be perfectly fine with most new games. I know a friend who happily games on a Core2 E4500 on fairly high settings.

I'd say next upgrade maybe a newer hard drive or a faster graphics card.

It won't handle it better than an i5, but it will be perfectly fine to play.
