So I recently built a gaming rig, which is great, but when I did a fresh install of Windows 8.1 via disk to my new HDD and got to desktop, there was NO OPTION for wireless connection, only for ether net which is not possible for me. Do I need a network card or something. This is very very frustrating and would appreciate any help I can get.

You don't have a separate wireless router? You're using the DSL router or cable modem? If that's the case it's almost certainly N. You can pick up a Wireless N USB adapter at pretty much anyplace that sells any computer stuff like OfficeMax, Walmart, BestBuy, etc. or any computer shop that sells hardware.

If you need a wireless card, you might be able to get one at one of those places, or, you can order one.
