So I was just wondering if my Super Flower 500 wattage 80 plus gold power supply could handle a stock speed r9 280x. People have told me that I can't but i was looking at this thread and people were saying that it could handle it.

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1833531/radeon-280x-psu-requirements.html

The only thing is, I think the rest of my system would be a bit more power hungry.
My Specs:

Intel i7 4770
8gb Ram
DVD writer
500w gold psu
1tb 7200rpm

As in the other thread it was saying that it would be fine as long as the rest of the system wasn't power hungry and that guy had a intel i5 3570k.

So if anyone could help me, it would be greatly appreciated :)

Golden Green HX series are good psu and your 500w has the pcie cables needed and can provide 41.5A (498w) on the 12v rail meening, that is more than capable of running your system with r9 280x. even moderate overclocking can be an option!:)
