My external hard drive Seagate SRD00F1, recently stopped working. When I plug it in, it downloads the drivers but it only shows in Devices and Printers and not in either My Computer or Disk Management(Where all the solutions over the internet pointed to, so assigning a drive letter is impossible). Any solution for this issue will be nice.
Regards.

Hi there vaibhav121,

Does the drive make any strange noises or it seems to be running just fine as always?
Can you see the drive through: Write "diskpart" in CMD -> type "list volume" ? If it is recognized over there you can try assigning a letter( sorry if you have tried that. You have not mentioned looking for the volumes through the Command Prompt).

You can check out the following thread: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1662802/solved...
It will also wont hurt if you try connecting the device with different USB cable to a different USB port.

Hope this will help,
