Hey. I've got my i5 4670k in my rig and I just saw i5 4690k selling for 3€ more than 4670k. How much difference does it make and is it worth selling 4670k just to get 4690k?

If not, which cpu would be a viable option to go for?
(and no, Im not really planning to switch from my 4670k, I'm just asking from theoretical aspect.

More about : replacing 4670k 4690k

Its really not worth it, all the 90 gives is a higher base clock and better TIM

Nope, totally not worth. The only real difference is the thermal material. On average you might see a ~200mhz higher OC (or about 5% extra performance), but it's still the silicon lottery, so there will be 4690Ks out there which won't OC as high as some 4670Ks. No way it's worth an upgrade unless you're a serious OCer.
