My advent laptop was working slow, and I had used the inbuilt "reset" feature to start over again, but the computer still wasn't working as good as I wanted it to. It was better but it didn't solve the problem. So I downloaded DBAN yesterday and nuked it.

I inserted the two recovery disks that were given to me, performed a "factory restore" after using DBAN and everything is good again now. Windows 8 was automatically reinstalled because it came with my computer. But now there is no "refresh" or "reset" function on my computer any more. The recovery partition was deleted by DBAN which I expected, but I thought that with the two recovery disks the refresh & reset features would still be there, but they aren't. When I insert the recovery cd media, the only options are "system restore point" and "factory restore." Is there any way to get these features back again? Do I have to go to command prompt or something?

If I laptop ever started running slow again, I would have liked to just have used the refresh or reset feature, but now I can't. Are these features gone forever?
