im going to build a gaming pc for first time.
the components are
intel core i5 4670k
Asus Strix r9 285
asrock killer z97 or z87 LGA 1150
corsair vengence ddr3 1600 cas 9
corsair psu RM 550
corsair carbide 300R cabinate
BENQ RL 2440H monitor
and 1 TB 7200 RPM 32 to 64 MB cache HDD.
so are all these components are good compatible with each other.
any precaution for building desktop.
also i would like to know what is cas latency?
THANKS

Solution
1, The Hyper 212 EVO is almost the same for 30$ cheaper.
2, I wouldn't get an MSI board as they have QC issues.
3, Vengeance RAM is NOT necessary, G.SKILL Ripjaws X or Sniper is the same or better for cheaper.
4, I would get an Intel or G.SKILL Phoenix SSD for 5$ less.
5, The Antec Three Hundred Illusion has one more fan and can be found for the same price.
6, The XFX 550 watt 80+ Bronze performs the same for 30$ cheaper.

The RAM is the same, but the price is cheaper, i have the same RAM as i added to the part list and i am more than happy with my decision .
The PSU is indeed unneeded if you are not going to add a GPU, so here is a new build with an 80 + Gold PSU from SeaSonic:
