Hi, title pretty much says it all.

I am building two new systems, I already own a Windows 7 home premium (64bit) installation disk so i was wondering if i could simply buy an activation code to use with the disk on the new systems? Would this be less costly than buying another disk for each system? If so, where could i find activation codes for sale?

Thanks for any replies.

Yes you can purchase a code online then use an existing disk. Some sites give you an electronic copy of windows too and some don't. Prices vary from site to site but I have never used any so unfortunately I cant recommend a good site.

*edit* Also don't buy an OEM copy of windows, that's for system builders and I think you need an OEM lenience (or something like that)

The license is what costs, not the physical disk. You can freely download the install media from here:

It would still need a valid license key.

Since the release of Win 8, MS does not sell, nor allow authorized resellers to sell, 'only the key'. Anywhere you find 'just the key' is probably not legit.
Windows costs what it costs.

This thread will almost certainly need to be closed soon, due to multiple bogus sources appearing.
