desktop help needed!

hi all,
ive just installed windows 8.1 reinstalled all drivers and updated, however the problem im having is my nvidia gtx 770 the settings are set to 1080x1920 as per my sony full hd tv all the items and windows are bigger than they have been and cant figure out why!??

Go to your control panel>Appearance and Personalization>Display>Change display settings (righthand top) then put it to the 1920x1080 resolution.

Do you mean that some of the screen is cut off? Like you can't see the entire start button or task bar?

I use a Sony TV as a monitor as well.

Go through the TV menu. Look for Overscan.

Your other option is in the NVIDIA Control Panel:
Look for desktop size and position
Disable desktop resizing
Set the resolution to 1920x1080.

I changed mine on my TV. I don't want any overscan because part of the tv image is cut off.
