I bought a new HDD for my laptop. But I don't know how to move all the data and partitions from my original drive to my new. Is there any software (Win 7) to do this or do i need to do this manually. I hope you can help me...

Disk cloning is the right way to do this. You will need two things:

1. A way to connect BOTH the old and new HDD units to one machine. If you cannot do that in your laptop, you may have to borrow the use of a desktop with two spare SATA ports for the cloning operation. It will take several hours.
2. The cloning software. The previous posts suggested two, and I'll suggest a third route to get a free cloning utility. Many HDD makers let you download free cloning software from their websites. BUT often they are customized to make the clone copy only TO one of their HDD's - they don't care whose old HDD you are copying FROM. So if your new HDD is from WD, get their Acronis True Imaging WD Edition. If it's from Seagate, get their Disk Wizard. If it's from another company, check their website. You will need to download that software and install it on the C: drive of the machine that is doing the cloning. Run it from there. If you're using a borrowed machine, you MAY want to uninstall that software when finished - check with the machine owner.

When using the cloning software make VERY sure you specify correctly which HDD is the SOURCE, and which is the DESTINATION unit. Anything on the Destination unit will be wiped out, so you don't want to do that by mistake to your OLD HDD!
