Hello!
Recently a friend of mine randomly found that the bottom half of his screen doesn't work! There is a crack from one side of the device to the other! Above the crack, screen works and responds to touch controls, below the crack, it doesnt, no matter how to touch it, doesnt respond! My guess is the crack doesnt allow the screen to pass the touch signal through! The phone is unusable now, we can't input a SIM card password because only the 2,3,6 and 9 numbers work.. others are below the crack and unresponsive! If we take out the sim card and if we go into any app or anything, we cant go back to home screen because the home, back and menu button don't work!
The device is a Sony ZR
He said he hadn't dropped the phone before the crack appeared..
I have never seen a simple crack stop a screen from working.. Big ones yes, but this is one that should just hurt the eyes not the touch capabilites as well!
If anyone can give any advice it would be greatly appreciated! It's a waterproof phone so I think replacing the screen would be a big hassle! And I doubt something like this would be covered under warranty.
