Hi there!
I bought brand new ASUS Sabertooth 990FX and 2x4GB G.Skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL. I complemented the system with AMD Phenom II X2 550 BE, which I've been using on the M3N-HT (AM2). After assembling all the stuff I'm not able to boot up the system. After powering on I hear 1 beep followed by 2 short ones (No Memory Detected - according to the manual). I tried out every slot with both memory sticks (one by one and together)... no success. I also reseted RTC RAM with jumper... no luck. I can't imagine both brand new RAMs are faulty... neither mobo (it's TUF though). I suspect memory controller on CPU, though I still can boot up old system with DDR2 using the same CPU.
Unfortunately I don't have any replacement parts to investigate the case further. Tomorrow I'm going to buy some cheap RAM, install it and see what happens.
Did anyone had similar issues? Any ideas?

Make sure your heatsink isn't tightened down too much.

With new components , I doubt dust is an issue.

I've had similar issue and it was from some dust at the memory slots and after removing it worked fine :)

Actually, I've also tried to boot without cooler but it's interesting point. Can you explain how tightened heatsink can cause such problems?

OK... I'll give it a try... whatever ;)

UPDATE: After blowing in fairly clean slots ;) ... it still won't boot up.

Sometimes when the Heastsink is slightly over tightened , it very slightly bends the board , affecting a memory slot or slots.

Looks like you were right. I took one more glance at things and I noticed that one of these plastic bolts that support MB was stucked under the board. I took MB out off the chassis and BANG - it works.

Even if I would notice this earlier I would probably ignore it as possible reason of my problems. Respect SR-71! ;)
