Hi all,
I was digging through a lot of posts already, but couldn´t really come up with a solution on my own as I´m not really into this stuff.
I hope I was able to compile a lot of necessary information for anyone to help:

Lately I experience sudden crashes of many games (mostly graphic intensive ones) back to Windows after 10-20 min of playtime.
As a Furmark run did not indicate a problem with my GPU, I assumed that there might be a problem with my installed RAM.
When I first checked RAM size with Win7 & CPU-Z, I realized that they show only 8 GB RAM, while I always thought that 16GB should be installed :D
My system is already 2 years old, cannot tell when this started (or if it is really a problem at all?).

System Specs:

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz
Gigabyte Z77-DS3H (version F6, 2012/05 --> not up to date)
AMD Radeon HD6870 (Sapphire)

RAM
Two RAM sticks (Slot #1 + #3) of Corsair XMS3 2x4GB
Part# CMX8GX3M2A1600C9 (already checked that this confirms to the 2x4=8GB per RAM stick on the corsair website)

Bios shows 8GB installed RAM, frequency of 1600 MHz, and 1.65V DDR voltage.
CPU-Z shows 800 MHz DRAM Frequency (will be doubled, so thats ok?), 8GB size and a module size of 4gb for each slot. Voltage is 1.5V for the JEDEC parts of the table, 1.65V for XMP-1600.

So, I hope anyone can help me with this RAM issue (and hopefully then also why all my games crash suddenly!)

Best and thx!

You have 8GB RAM installed, not 16GB. 2x4GB = 8GB not 16GB.

What is the make/model of PSU ? I think there lies the problem with games crashing !

Ok, got it now! However, it is rather confusing ;)

I´ve got an 650 W Green Power Edition Silent Giant Series PC Power Supply (LC6650GP3) v2.3 installed.

Thx for the help!

Its (PSU) not a decent unit, so it could be the culprit. You may need a decent PSU like XFX, Seasonis, Corsair TX, HX, series. But first try with another PSU, if you have spare or can borrow it from someone, if you see the PSU is the problem then replace it with the above mentioned ones. Good luck.

Might also run the DRAM through Memtest, could have a bad or going bad stick. DRAM reuiring 1.65 for 1600 often has weak or poorly binned memory chips
