So, I have checked everything on my HP Pavilion P6, and everything/all sources said that my Win7 Home Premium Install Disk will work on my laptop. Me being the retard I am, I forgot to back up and formatted everything. I then inserted the Win7 install disk and it said that It can't install because the hard drive is of a diffrent type? so apparently It won't install on that, Then I inserted a Win8.1 Pro instalation disk into it and It wouldn't work, it doesn't even detect it in there. I tried everything. I've been trying to fix this for the past 8 hours. Someone please help. I will provide additional detail if needed. EDIT: Forgot to say, recovery partion is still there but win8 isn't installed, I can't do anything I don't think. The FULL recovery partion is there untouched but I have NO clue how to get to it.

Make sure secure boot is off, AHCI is on and quick boot is off. Set your boot priority to the DVD (or flash drive if you are using that), and boot from the Windows installer. You may have to go in to manually select the hard drive/partition(s) to install windows - removing the previous partitions and letting Windows create the new ones.

Nevermind! I had to do this!

"At first installer screen Press Shift + F10 to open a Command Box, type:

DISKPART
LIST DISK
SEL DIS 0 (after confirming Windows 7 target HD #)
CLEAN
CONVERT MBR
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY SIZE=102400 (for 100gb partition, adjust as desired)
FORMAT FS=NTFS LABEL="WINDOWS 7"
ACTIVE
EXIT
EXIT"

That way it was possible for me to install Win7.
