CDs not playing in car problem solved

My car (2006 Volkswagen GLI) had no problem playing audio CDs burned using my old PC running Windows XP Media Center and using Sony CD-R Music CDs (700MB/80 min). However, the same car won't properly play the same style of CDs burned using my new PC that runs Windows 7. These CDs work fine in a handheld CD player, but not in my car. The audio is there but you hear lots of chopping sounds and distortion and 'clicks'. This is very obvious from the first couple of seconds of listening. It does the same thing in my wife's car (2006 vintage) but to a lesser degree. I even bought a new package of the same brand of CDs and had the same problem. Finally, after lots of trial and error, I switched to Memorex Music CD-R CDs (40X, 700MB, 80 min). Problem solved! The solution was so simple, but it took 2-3 days to figure it out! I hope this helps someone!
