So basically as the title says, whenever I connect my computer (with cable) to the router, it slows my download speed down, by insane amounts. I get 10mbps download when using the router, but when I plug it in to the modem, I get 90 - 100 mbps, so I thought the router was the problem, therefore I tried changing router, however, still the same, I then tried with a third router, the same issue is there..
I tried to verify if my computer was the issue, by plugging the cable in to another laptop, but, the speed remains, so, it shouldn't be my computer, not really the router either, but not the modem either, because the modem gives the speed it should, the router sends out wirelessly the speed it should, and the cable can easily give the speed that it gets, since I get the speed required when connecting to the modem, just not from any other routers, so... I'm a little lost here?
Any ideas as to what may be causing this? Since two computers are getting the reduced speed when using three different routers.
Another odd thing is, I tried with another cable, that I'd plug into the laptop next to the router, and from there it gets the speed required, but that cable is way too short, I did actually get full speed from the long cable (from my computer and to the router) but that was when the cable was laying flat down next to the router.. So, is it possible the cable is damaged? But if so, why would it get full speed from the modem, but not the router?
