Because the 9370 has the TDP 220W, you need high end 990 chipset MB to run the 9370. Like Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z or Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7, etc.

How about the combination of MSI 990fxa-GD65 and the 9370?

Hey.. Does the term FX mean anything?
And if it does then, what's the difference between ASRock 990fx Extreme 9 & ASRock 990 Extreme 9? And which one would support my 9370?

In this case, the FX refers to the the 990FX chipset used by the motherboard (that also supports the FX-series CPUs).

This motherboard supports the FX-9370: http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/990FX%20Extreme9/

Adding a SSD for your OS and key apps, like games, wous really speed up your build.

You need the aftermarket cpu cooler too, like the H2O because the fx9370 will run very hot.

And I have a big question for you, what are you going to do with fx9370, for games or for multitasking like photoshop, video editing.
If for game you just waste the money, because most of games don't use more than 4 cores. Get the fx 8320. For other like photo/ video editing etc, you are better to get the i7 that is better than the fx9370. If you want to for ocing , then it maybe the only reason to buy the fx9370.

Now my mobo and processor combo is this:
ASRock 970 Extreme 4 & AMD 8350fx processor..
And now that I have more space in my budget, should I upgrade to a SSD or should I upgrade my mobo to ASRock 990fx Extreme 9?

If you buy the fx8350, even fx8320, it is not a good idea to buy the ASRock 970 Extreme 4, because it has the problem like it has lower power phase (VRMs), and fx8350 has 125W TDP, also I check the asrock site the fx8350 or fx8320 is not on the cpu support list. http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/970%20Extreme4/index.de.as...
You are better to buy Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P, Asus M5A97 R2.0, or ASRock 990FX Killer.
