I recently won an ebay bid of an HP 8100 elite and was looking to do some upgrades to it. However, upon looking inside the case I can't seem to find a connection from the psu to the mobo for 20 or 24 pin connection. Maybe i'm blind but if this is true, what could i do about a psu upgrade and invariably a gpu upgrade?

specs:
cpu - i5 750
mobo - 304Bh
4gb ram
320w +12.1 v 16a max

More about : motherboard pin connector

The motherboard should have a 24 pin connector.

All new psu's have this connection.

It should already be connected if you can power on the computer?

It looks to be a BTX board with the power connector just in front of the back panel I/O ports.

I guess i'm just not good at identifying. What I see by the rear side near the i/o is a 4 (2x2) connector to the psu. On the other side, just a little to the right are the hdd and cddrive connectors and just below those are a straight 6 to the psu and right below that is a 6 (3x2) connector to the psu.

The motherboard and PSU are proprietary , just the the Z SERIES workstations.

They don't use standard ATX power supplies.

The proprietary motherboard needs an hp specific PSU.

Not upgradeable.
