Hi There,

(Apologies if this is not in the appropriate section). I would really appreciate your thoughts/advice on the below:

I am in the process of building a PC for myself for the first time. The PC will be used for general use (work, study etc), but also for casual/casual-heavy gaming. In years gone by, I would have been a pretty heavy console gamer, but now I don't have as much time to play. I would still really like to be able to enjoy playing games, so even though I may not get to play all too often, I would still like to be able at as high frame rate/game settings for as small a budget as possible. I guess my ideal PC right now would be a PC is at least a little versatile ie Can play games and well (Battlefield 4, Skyrim, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag etc), but also be capable of your everyday tasks and perhaps a little bit more ( ie Occasional use of programs such as Photoshop) AND also be reliable. Am I asking too much of a budget of around €600 ($750)?
I have put together a pretty detailed list of components I reckon will get me the computer I want. The list is pretty much identical to "Austin Evans $500 Photon Build". The specs are as follows:

CPU : AMD Athlon X4 760K --- 83($) 64(€)
Motherboard: MSI A78M-E35 --- 60($) 46(€)
GPU: Sapphire Radeon R7 260X --- 125($) 96(€)
RAM: 8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport --- 83($) 64(€)
HDD: 1TB Western Digital Black --- 73($) 56(€)
PS: 430W Corsair CX430 --- 40($) 31(€)
Case: Corsair SPEC-01 --- 61($) 47(€)
Monitor: BenQ GL2450HM 24" --- 140($) 107(€)
OS: Windows 8.1 --- 100($) 70(€)
Total without Peripherals and possible future SSD for OS: --- 765($) 581(€)

- Can anybody please advise me on whether this is a good build for the personal needs I have previously mentioned?
- Will this build last long for a casual/casual-heavy gamer?
- If you know of any better/stronger components that I should be using that will still be within my budget. I am willing to spend a little more in some places if it will really better my overall build.
- Is this build giving me bang for my buck? If you could suggest any other build similar, but better, Please let me know!:bounce:

I know this is very long winded, but I am only getting into the whole PC thing and am really excited, but sometimes get overwhelmed.Lastly, thank you very much for your time and help ! :wahoo:

This build would be better if you can spare the extra 50$:

Virginia taxes are applied, but you can change accordingly.
I didn't include an OS or a monitor, but Linux is open-source and free...
You can also use the monitor you used to create this thread.
