Hello Guys,

I have been reading a lot of reviews and threads about this but I don't really find any real difference between the two of them. Almost everything that the Hero offers the Z97 - A offers it too. So what is the real difference between the two apart from the color and the ability to overclock a bit more? Components? Can someone mention specific features that the Hero offers that makes it better?

I live in China and the Asus Maximus VII Hero costs $316, while the Asus Z97 - A cost $144. If I lived in USA I would buy the Hero without thinking, but since is double the price I really need to know what distinguish them. Will it overclock twice more than the Z97 -A?

Thanks for your help!
Ric

There's absolutely no reason to get the Hero acording to those prices. Z97-A all the way.

Both are great mobos, I have the Hero (and the previous Z87 Hero) and have built on the A model in both chipsets...The Hero OCs better, is a little cooler, the BIOS is better if planning to fine tune, and sound is better with the Hero

I know that the Z97 Hero has ver good overclocking features. But since I live in China and it cost twice the price of a Z97 -A the features of the Hero worth double the price?

I'd say No to be quite hones, here it often a $40-$60 difference (roughly ($150 vs $190/200), but at twice the price, I'd say definitely go with the A
