My PC (Connected via a network cable) is slower than my wireless?

So I have a PC. Pretty high spec and I play games on it all of the time. My dad is pretty cheap on the internet front but I don't mind it too much. My problem is that before my dad got Fibre Optic internet (the lowest tier possible) my broadband speed was 10-15 Down and 0.5 Up and now it is 20 Down and 1.5 Up. My computer is connected via a network cable coming from a plug (Talktalk if it helps) and has no wireless adapter/card just network input. Right next to my router my iPhone (on speedtest) gets 36 down and 1.5 up, which is what our ISP said we should get, and my dad's laptop (also next to the router) gets similar speeds. I was just wandering why my download speed is so slow compared to what I should be getting.

Assuming this is a power line network adapter like this one?

If so, speed can be affected by distance, quality of electrical wiring, and other electronic devices in the home, among other things.

There probably isn't too much you can do to improve things. You can try a different nearby outlet or combination of outlets if possible. Also, be sure that neither device is plugged in to a power strip.

If it isn't a power line adapter that you're referring to, then post the make and model of the device.
