Hi guys,

I recent bought and installed the r9 280x. Things are fine on the graphics end but I'm facing a weird issue. Whenever I set any game (tested on sleeping dogs, shadow of mordor, farcry3) to ultra, my UPS shuts off after beeping non stop a couple of minutes in.

The ups model is Back - UPS RS 600 from APC (230V). Does anyone know what might be going on here?

Any help appreciated, I cannot enjoy gaming for worrying that my computer is about to conk off.

Try it connected straight to the outlet.

Hey,

Have you verified that your PSU provides enough power for your new GPU? I suspect the PSU might not be adequate enough and thus the UPS is giving you problems.

The power draw is probably too high for your ups. I've had this happen in the past as well. I simply bought a better ups and all was fine. I also did what i7baby said until I picked up a new one.
