CPU fan (temporarily G3420 box) at startup is very noisy for ca. 5 seconds - revolving at maximum. Then becomes ok. Is it normal for this motherboard or other motherboards? Is the fan or motherboard faulty? I've tried three different bios versions. Always the same situation...

It's more than likely the fan , stock fan is poor.

Ok. Thanks. It looks like a feature of new motherboards. I've had many systems before with stock fans and never experienced such thing. When I switch to 4690K box I will be prepared for another start-up noise. Too bad, especially at night. There should be some option in BIOS to control this behaviour. Of course I will replace the stock fan anyhow but that's not the point.

I agree , they just don't make good stock fans.
