Hi everyone, I've been wondering what happens if you take a 720p video and upload it to youtube as a 1080p video? Would the video be sharper or blurrier? What about games? Say a games textures were all 2k or 720p, would the game still look better played at 4k or 1080p?

Solution
1. Uploading a 720p vidoe as 1080p will not show any improvement in the video quality. If the video was recorded in 720p, it will look just like 720p even if you upload it under 1080p category.

As far as games go, they are designed to allow some flexibility for your computers GPU to work its magic. So playing a game in 4k (assuming you have a monitor/video card that supports it) you will either unlock a graphic setting the designer created and people just haven't had the hardware to support it yet, or you will get maximum quality available and you can zoom out a bit for larger field of view over the game.

Ok thanks for the quick reply, but lets say as an example i downloaded a 2k trees texture mod for skyrim, and i was to look at said tree up close running the game at 2k native resolution, then switched to 4k resolution and looked at the tree again, would 4k look better than 2k, or would they both look the same? Any increase in anti aliasing or anything else?
