I'm experimenting with different PC builds and would like all of your opinions on this build here. My budget is around 650-700 dollars, including an OS.

Case: COOLER MASTER Elite 110

CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K Quad-Core 3.7GHz

GPU: MSI R9 270X GAMING 2G ITX

Memory: HyperX Fury Black Series 8GB 240-Pin DDR3

Hard Drive: Western Digital WD Blue WD10EZEX 1TB

PSU: CORSAIR CXM series CX750M 750W

Motherboard: MSI A88XI AC (Looking for a cheaper one)

Always open for suggestions.

Solution

Yes , It will handle these games on Ultra with No AA 60+ FPS .

It will serve you well for a couple maybe 3 years with good settings.
I don't think this platform will deliver the best performance in its tier/budget.

CPU isn't strong , PSU is made of cheap capacitors known to fail under load and last but not least MSI motherboards aren't the greatest especially in AMD builds.

Here's my project :

Thanks! Is this semi future-proof would you say? Will it run these games at at LEAST medium settings: Far Cry 3, Battlefield 3 and 4, Skyrim, Wolfenstein?

Know if it's sort of future proof and will run the games I listed above?

They use FXAA and AA in general in most games , when you turn those off 60 FPS is very manageable .

Do you have a good source on that, TopLuca? Because Tom's Hardware's review on that R9 280 doesn't mention any kind of AA in their BF4 result where they get min 40 FPS, max 49 FPS at 1920x1080. I ask because I'm seriously considering this card myself, and don't really know whose benchmarks to trust. I mean half the internet says BS like G3258s are as good as i7-4790k's when you overclock them to 4.5 GHz!

Here's the Solid proof :

BF4 High Settings :

Ultra Settings :

No AA

Watch Dogs High W/FXAA which is very taxing :

Far Cry 3 with 4xMSAA which is extremely taxing , I don't even use it on my 290 :
