I have a 900p monitor already, but I dont want to spend 100$ on a 1080p monitor that I dont necessarily need right now. Is there a big noticeable difference between 900p / 1080p? Im going to be playing world of Warcraft allot, but also some other casual games.

it's not an issue if you don't got a problem with it.

honestly the huge bum-rush toward higher resolutions is over-rated. that said, there is value in going to 1080p or hell even 4K, but as long as you're enjoying your games and having a good time, who's to tell you to go out and spend more money?

Thanks for the fast responses! Im just going to stick with my 900p monitor since theres barely a difference. I cant even tell the difference in those pics, 720p being just a tad noticeable.

for gaming, not really...
1440x900
1920x1080
that is 1080p and 900p you are going to be missing about 200 vert pixels and 500 horizontal. if you never had a 1080p monitor before, it shouldn't be to much of a problem, but if you did... its going to be a noticeable step backward.

games, at least modern ones, do a competent job with scaling, though with wow, you may have some ui scaling issues at the high end.

those arent the best comparisons, as it is doing a side by side comparison of them, not a native resolution comparison... there is less detail in lower res, but it doesn't look as horrible as the screenshots make it out to be unless you are running a lower res on a bigger monitor.

My monitor is sort of small, being 17 inches. Will that take in effect on it?

the important thing with lcds is to play at native resolution or in a windowed if you play it smaller, if you play the games full screen at a non native resolution, the results look like crap.
either play games full screen native, or in a window and you wont have the massive problems that those screenshots show.
