Okay. When I first got my computer my games weren't working and blah blah blah. I finally RMA'd the graphics card and got a new one.. I installed the graphics card correctly and all my games work. Now, I'm playing Saints Row IV and I have been for a while since I got my new graphics card. There's nothing wrong with it. No error messages, no colored lines, pixelation, no anything. But now Saints Row IV is randomly freezing while the audio continues. So far every game has been working except this one and CODBO2.. which hasn't been working since I got it... but I do remember when moving my chair around I accidentally hit the top of my computer with my knee and it rocked it a little bit, nothing too major. There's still no pixelation, colored lines or anything. Not even error messages. but Saints Row IV is just randomly freezing. My graphics card is AMD Radeon HD 7770 and when I go on the "AMD Gaming Revolved." it says I have a driver update. I already clicked the link and downloaded and installed. It still says I have an update. I'm just confused now... :|

This sounds like a potential heat and/or power issue. Please list (make/model) all of your system's main components (CPU, motherboard, power supply, etc).

Also, are you monitoring your system temperatures? If so, what is your CPU and GPU idle and loaded (like when gaming) operating temperatures?

Last (for now), are you overclocking anything?

Does it stay frozen or does it unfreeze after a minute? How do you get out of the situation, by shutting the full system down or going to task manager to close the game?

You could try uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them, or try that with those games. I'd say its probably something with those games since they are the only two having the problem.

CPU - AMD Fx-8350 Eight-Core Processor
Motherboard - Ultra Durable™ Motherboard GA-970A-D3P
Power Supply - Not for sure, but I do see MAX500W on it when I look on the inside. So I'm guessing 500 Watts.
GPU - AMD Radeon HD 7770
OS - Windows 8.1
RAM - 8 GB

After getting out of the game, I checked the temperature and it said 49~50 Degrees C. Now, being idle on the internet it's 40 Degrees C. And no, I'm not overclocking anything. The only thing I did mess with was the Resolution and scaling because when I had to switch from a VGA port to a HDMI Cable the screen was blurry.. but I fixed that.

I'm pretty sure it stays frozen. I haven't let it sit frozen for 5 Minutes. I have waited for maybe a good 30 Seconds or a minute without anything else happening, just the audio continuing to play. I can hear the gun shots shooting at my character and stuff. and I don't use task manager all the time to exit it out or shut down the computer. I just press ESC and then I hear the cursor move down the options without actually seeing it. The picture is still frozen on the screen when I do so. And when I do press the last option by hearing it, it automatically exits to my desktop and steam re-opens the application.

Look at the power supply label to see if a model number can be found. A poor quality unit can cause these sorts of issues.

Regardless of the advertised wattage rating, not all PSUs are created equally.

I kind of feel its probably still in software, but its a good practice to double check all hardware too.

Just because it will cost you nothing I would try using CCleaner to remove all trace of the drivers and the games and reinstall them before trying to replace any hardware, just because it has the least negative consequencies if I am wrong.
Second would be reinstalling Direct X 11
Then Windows.
Then hardware. While its possible the issue is hardware, I just kind of think its probably software this time and again it doesn't cost anything to try the software fixes.

Can't see anything else than MAX500W and AL-D500exp. Which when I looked on google for it I see APEX AL-D500exp but I looked for a picture and it says ALLIED APEX AL-D500exp. Hoping it's a good one.

That model is a bargain basement low-end component. It might put out 300w on a good day.

I would replace with a quality unit from Seasonic, Corsair, or XFX (just some examples of much better brands).

Check your software as suggested. But you really need to get a better, more reliable and capable PSU.

Meant to press the reply button.. eh, oh well. Your answer will most likely solve my problem. Thanks anyways. xD I laugh at 300W "on a good day". But hey, I didn't have the computer built myself.. This is my first computer and I'm just a 15 Year old kid, I got it from iBuyPower (which I know people had problems with their PSU when they get a PC from them).
