Alright, so I'm planning on purchasing a new graphics card (titan) for my pc. Also I am planning on purchasing two more monitors (along with my original monitor) so I can put together a triple monitor setup. So the question is, how should I connect these monitors? Each monitor has both a dvi and hdmi port, but the titan (link below) has one hdmi, one dvi-i and one dvi-d port. How would I go about connecting these three monitors to this card (the best solution, with the best resolution possible) PS: This (if not obvious to you) is in fact for gaming.

GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Monitor: LG IPS237L-BN 23"

Please, do NOT get the Titan. Its a dead card at this point, it has no real place in gaming

For nearly half the price SLI 970s will offer MUCH higher levels of performance, almost identical to a 295x2

I would connect them using DVI, HDMI, and Displayport to HDMI adapter.

Alright so suppose I go with this, I have two questions;

1: Would there be any difference in video quality
2: With using a sli set up with these cards, will they still be able to tear up games that have yet to be released? (I ask this because I figure I might as well just go all out with it, so I wont have to replace them for some time. Im just nervous with having a triple monitor set up and being stuck with cards that can't play future games on all three monitors without having terrible performance. I know I cant expect these cards to last me forever, but I still would like to get a LOT of use from them with three monitors)

sorry, I'm such a novice when it comes to multi-screen displays for gaming...

Please dont get a titan for gaming. If you want to spend that much get a 295x2 or two 970's or 980's

The video will look the same, however it will run at higher FPS, which is a large difference.

On ultra settings with 4xAA on 3x1080p monitors you can expect about 55 FPS in games like BF4, or 61 in watchdogs with SLI 970s. The Titan Black would only pull about 35, and 40 FPS respectively.
Overall, they will run ultra for a few years, but the lower you set the settings the longer they will last you.

1) definatly no change in gaming experience, i recommend you 3 cards

r9 295x2 1000$ but similar performance to 980 sli and is watercooled so you can get nice overclocks
980 sli with slightly better performance than a r9 295x2 but costs around 100$ more(recommended)
970 sli cheaper with a lot of performance and 400-500$ less than above options

2) these are the most powerful cards out right now, if you wanted to go all out then a quad fire r9 295x2(2 r9 295x2 in crossfire) or 4 way sli( 4 980 in sli) they dont offer linear performance so the performance/price will go down a lot but there still will be considerable performance for the future and 4k/5760x1080p.

Check the benchmarks, 295x2s are on par with 970 SLI, not 980.
The 295 was a long shot that was good for a few weeks, but now it has no place in gaming.

Alright. The only problem with a sli set up, is that my motherboard has the pci 3.0 slots very close together. Would the amount of heat the two cards give off be a problem (being so close and all)?

Or should I just go for a 295x2. Keep in mind that at this point, my budget sits around $1000. So Im looking for the best possible gpu for a triple monitor set up that a thousand dollars can buy. Im not set on any card really, just want amazing performance, so if theres a card out there other than the two mentioned, I would be willing to look into it.

Theres no reason to spend nearly 300 dollars more, for identical performance, for some thermals. Thats nothing good airflow cant fix, which is solved by a few good case fans.

If you want one gpu go a 980, if you want two go 970 or 980sli. If you want two gpus one one board go a 295

not really sure the 970 = 780 , r9 295x2 = 780ti, 780ti not that much slower than 980's. The 980's are faster by 10fps max and for the multi monitors the r9 295x2 will still be a beast, but of course i still recommended the newer technology, 980 sli.

The 970 is on average 5% below the 780Ti, and ~15% over the 780.

The benchmarks dont lie.

But I do agree on the 980SLI. Though they dont have nearly the price/performance ratio as the 970s, if you are willing to kick out 1 grand, they are the way to go.

thanks i was saying that but people said 970 was like a 970, i need to look more at benchmarks. I hope amd steps up their game with some 10nm cpus and 14/16nm gpus to finally compete but its not looking likely.

If AMD could make 10 nm CPUs they would be able to destroy Intel if they could make a half decent build with them hell Intel isn't even on 18nm never mind 10nm

Also they use the same fan partner as nvidea so they won't get any advantage over them for GPU tech

yeah thats true on the gpu part since they both are getting 20nm however i want 14/16nm max 18nm in 2016 especially with nvidia's pascal with 3d vram or something. If amd can just get it anywhere close to intel i mean 20nm or below they would have a chance and if they can offer similar or greater performance for less cost then they have a winning chance.

The SLI 970s would be overkill right now though... wouldn't it? I guess it would suit a triple monitor setup though.

this guy has 1000's dollars to spend and be set for some times(im guessing at least 3yrs without to signifcant decrease in performance across 3 monitors) so a 980 sli would be great, this would be the cheapest option but a r9 290 crossfire might be better at that price just due to the wider bus for higher resolutions.
