I have an HP p7-1026.
My problem is that the power button does not have any indicator light anymore.
I was away from the pc and came back to it non-responsive. Touching a keyboard key would not "wake" it, so I decided to press the power button to switch it off.
When I tried to power on, the fans to the PS, case, MOBO all started. The PS has a green light at the back. But the front bower button does not have any indicator light on. The monitor "wakes" up, but promptly goes to sleep, and the keyboard (connected to a front usb) appears to be unresponsive.
I have tried switching a working PSU, but the same situation happens.

If you tried a different power supply, issue is likely a bad motherboard. May be a CPU issue but a lot more likely it's the motherboard.

Try resetting the BIOS to defaults (unplug from power and use the reset jumper or pull the battery for 10 seconds), if that does not get it to boot, a new motherboard is in order.
