I am working on finishing this gaming rig upgrade I started a while back. I currently have a 120gb ssd, and a 500 gb WD Blue. I have some random 80s I had laying around in there right now as well in a raid 0 for fun. Turns out for gaming...its slower lol.

Based on the PC Mark gaming bench located here >>Gaming Bench<< the best drive was the SSHD. This got me thinking. For a gaming only drive, would an SSHD or SRT setup be best if on a budget?

We spend a lot of money on a gaming rig to be quick including boot/load times. Nothing makes you feel you still have a slow system like waiting and waiting for things to load.

I currently have about 200GB of games downloaded between Steam and Origin. I would like to be covered for several years, not 6 months. :)

Does anybody have any real world experience with SRT and hybrid vs HDD? Is it worth the effort?

I have SSHD's in my desktop and laptop. Going from a 7,200rpm to the SSHD was a noticeable difference, especially after a week of use. It really made a difference in the laptop, being from 2008, it gave it a new life. It is worth the money if on a budget and can't/wont spend the money on a large SSD.
