I recently updated my audio drivers, and when i did so my mic began to only send sound in the right ear/speaker. when i record in audacity, it defaults to stereo mode, witch before the update, had the same audio in both channels, now only has the audio in the right channel, and in the left channel is only the static that my mic produces (its not usb it is 3.5mm mic jack and picks up static due to presumably bad shielding) . i dont know what to do. in audacity i can change it to mono and that solves my probem if it is pre recorded audio.. but for teamspeak and other live audio things, this is an issue

Solution
Check the windows or other OS mic settings. It may be that somehow it got switched to only record in one ear. It does happen, indeed I thought I had broken my headset. Check windows mic settings and speaker settings, and also check your audio driver's mic and speaker settings.
