My PC's Unigine Valley's score is 3255. I'm expecting more on your system being it has GTX 970. Which GTX 970 do you have and at what clock did you run the test?

Yep you are almost spot on expected scores for that card (within a couple of fps)

Platform and res counts towards the score as well. At which res and settings OP scored in Valley test needs to be known before.

He says in the OP "Extreme hd preset 8xaa".

His score is within the margins of platform difference in my opinion.

Yes, you are right here. I was expecting more because GTX 970 is competing well against 780Ti. I thought with such powerful CPU and GPU the score would be better than 780Ti.

that's where you got to decide on what you feel is the upgrade line

even with my $120 7850 is it really worth it for my needs?? the 7850 seems to do all I need for what I do just fine .. just keep things adjusted to what the card can do in a sweet spot and run it

[but it would still be nice to run that gtx900 but it just anit worth the upgrade price over this as of yet] but that's just me

We are running in SPEED race here w/out realizing if we actually need it or not. That is for sure. But like it is said, the more speed the better. This is never ending debate. :)

@junkeymonkey: Very well point.
