Hi, i have 2 Samsung 2gb ddr3 1333Mhz/9-9-9-24 1.5v
I have ordered 1 4gb ram ddr3 1333Mhz/9-9-9-24 1.5v

So will it work.?
The new ram will be kingston or other company not samsung , says the shopkeeper.

And is it better to buy 2(2gb sticks) and use all 4 channels or buy 1 4gb stick and use 3 channels?

Whats the advantage and disadvantage of using 3 channels.

No.

Don't mix your ram up. Motherboard manufacturers only recommend tested RAM kits.

Buy a 2 x 4gb kit. That's all you'll need.

Well that costs 8000Rupees here.
And 4gb costs 40000Rupees.

Do you want RAM for free? Of course you have to pay for it. If you can't afford it, do without.

I can afford it but... i don not believe what you say is true. I will find out by buying one. Then if it does not work i will throw all three and buy 2x4gb or maybe even 2x8gb

Quad channel - 8 dimm slots? Or dual channel with 4 dimm slots. Why only 2 x 2gb?

hi

Since you already have 2 x Samsung 2GB which is = 4 GB
You shouldve instead ordered another 2 x Samsung 2GB (exact same brand) = 4GB
netting you 8 GB in total and filling all 4 Ram slots with 4 x 2GB Ram Sticks.

basically 4 ram slots with each slot having 1 ram stick with 2GB Ram from Samsung.

having 2 x 2GB Ram sticks in 2 slots and then 1 x 4GB ram stick in 1 slot won't work.

as what i7Baby already mentioned.

This is your Mobo? http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/71AL9REnehL._SL15...

They aren't the same specs. One is Kingston. The other is Samsung.

So they wont be fine together.?

Yep.

You need to get the exact Ram Sticks on the existing one you are using so they will all work together with your existing Ram.

Alternative is getting brand new Ram sticks kit 2 x 4 GB kit that will work on that mobo.

Then y I can play games and use like 5gb of ram. If they wouldn't be fine I would only be able to use 3.5gb-4gb

Shouldn't you have total of 8GB for 2 x 2 + 2 x 2?
Also check your computer properties if it shows 8 Gig.

Also all this confusion starts when you mentioned 2 x 2GB + 1 4GB stick

and now you saying you have 2 x 2GB and 2 x 2GB from another brand.

You should have mentioned if it worked or not, in the first place. Lol... unless if you are trying to prove something, I am not here for that, just giving solutions.

Either way if it worked then you are all okay then... lol

Lol I started this topic when I wanted new ram I thought 1x4gb would work. But then I bought 2x2gb as shopkeeper said more performance. In between I did say it worked fine but u guys said it wont work so I asked u why it wont work?.
Yes it shows 8gb but I don't actually see a boost in gaming. Maybe in future it might benefit.
