I've been having this very annoying issue with my mouse (Steelseries Sensei Raw, Frost Blue) over the past month now where my mouse will randomly disconnect for about 5-8 seconds and then reconnect itself, complete with the Windows sounds and the 'USB device not recognized' dialog. While this is happening the mouse of course does not work and the lighting on the mouse also completely dies. I can pretty much reproduce it by lifting the mouse off of my mouse pad, or by messing around with the cord. I have tried this mouse on a laptop, where it has functioned perfectly fine, which leads me to believe this is a hardware/software/driver issue on my desktop. I have also tried a backup Logitech mouse, which worked for a couple of days without any issue, but then it started to have the same problem. One interesting thing to note: when web browsing or doing anything that's not gaming pretty much, the mouse disconnect happens a lot more often. And when it does happen, my game also freezes or lags or hangs up during the duration of the mouse disconnect. When the mouse is reconnected automatically the game starts running smoothly again. That being said, the disconnects seldom happen when I am web browsing/watching a stream. I'm hesitant to buy a new mouse because I'm not totally sure if it will fix the problem, seeing as how my backup mice are affected and my Sensei works fine on my laptop.

Things I've tried:

* Using different USB ports (using the front USB ports as opposed to the rear ports worked for a couple of days before I started having the issue again)
* Updating motherboard chipset drivers
* Unchecking 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' on USB Root Hubs
* Uninstalling all mouse drivers in the Device Manager and then reinstalling (seemed to me there was an abnormal amount of mouse drivers for a single mouse, but I'm not too sure)
* Virus scans
* Turning off USB selective suspend in Power Options
* Uninstalling a lot of now unused USB devices in the Device Manager (which made the disconnections less frequent but still happen)

System specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Intel Core i5 2500K @ 3.30GHz

ASUSTeK P8H67-V (LGA1155)

ATI Radeon 6950 HD 2GB

I'm really frustrated with this problem so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Right now when I game I have to plug in a second mouse so I can quickly switch to the second mouse when my Sensei disconnects.

My mouse doesn't need batteries, the mobo has the newest bios, and unplugging everything but the mouse and keyboard didn't seem to fix it.
