Hi,

I've just put a system together and am really happy with it.

One small concern though, is that HWmon lists motherboard temps as:

TZ00 - 28c
TZ01 - 30c
Mainboard - 117c

Those values remain as current, min and max values, they're the same regardless of idle, prime, furmark, gaming, av scanning, file compression etc.

The cpu core temps function fine, there's a variance of about 5c across them, and they sit about 32c idle and 60c under load with the cooling fans at 600rpm.

I'm worried about 117c !!

I have a H100i so after reading reviews, have fitted a cooling fan over the whole socket/vrm area running at max speed.

I would still expect to see some spread of the reported temperatures though?!

any help appreciated!

IF it always stays at 117 then most likely it does not have a sensor or it is broken.

Simple just touch the board and you will know if it really is at 117 degrees :)

Just make sure hand is dry and get rid of static before doing that.

as much as I always enjoy a scientific test...

I know it can't be at those temps, there was a watercooler roundup by toms that had vrm temps showing the need for active cooling for overclocked machines, but as I remember, even then the shipset was only getting into the 70-80 region.

Just seems unlikely (and a shame!) that all 3 sensors are broken/stuck

Try a different program, third party software does not always read everything right.

to add, this is a completely stock system.

After installing coretemp i got a duplicate of all sensors in HWmon :-s after uninstalling and rebooting it all went back to normal...

just now, i saw a fluctuation in mainboard temp - it dropped from 117c to 116c then went back.

speedfan reports the same temps...

stumped...
