I recently moved house, set up my desktop to connect to the wifi and very little appeared on the local networks. I checked my laptop, which showed the area having approximately 12+ networks around me. I figured that it must of been the ancient wireless card and replaced it.
Today, I booted up the computer again, and at most, it is able to detect 3 networks, which the ability to detect them comes and goes at a pretty fast rate.
My home router is about 2 meters away at most, I'm able to connect to it via another router bouncing the signal, but I'd rather not have two set up for something that's within arms reach of me.

Tried reinstalling drivers and wiping old ones, nothing there has shown any fruit.
The questions are primarily, why can I only see a couple of networks, and why can I not connect to my own.

Thanks

Hi
Try moving the computer case 90 degrees in each direction to see if it improved the signal, the metal of the case may be between the card and the router.

Move it to face directly at it, no results.
