I am very frustrated. I just bought the surfboard 6141 modem and have it plugged in like so: http://vpncasestudy.com/image/AskUser01.gif

Right now, I don't have it plugged in like that because when it IS plugged in like that, on Netgear Genie it says "No ethernet cable connected to the Router's internet port". Right now I just have the modem's ethernet to computer (no other computer's in the house receive WI-FI like this). I can't get the router to cooperate with the modem and I am very frustrated. Any assistance would be appreciated ASAP.

Are you plugging the ethernet cable into the ethernet rather than lan port of the router?

Assuming you are talking about when I am using the router, I plug in the ethernet straight from the modem, into the INTERNET port of the Router. Does that help? Then the LAN one goes from the router to the PC.
