(Just to begin I want to say that I know almost nothing about this so go easy on me)
I am buying the Corsair RM650 Modular PSU 80P Gold and I am wondering what I'll need it to power and how many case fans I'll be able to connect to it? Oh and how I connect the fans? Do I just buy a few Molex to 3-pin connectors(Looking to connect about 5 fans, on eto the motherboard, rest to the PSU) and connec them that way?
Thank you, lemme know if you guys need more info.

Edit: Typos.

Some fans will connect to the motherboard depending on the fan connectors and the amount the motherboard has.
The rest can be hooked up to a 4 pin molex, if the fan has a 3 pin or 4 pin you will need a adapter.
Their also the option of buying a fan controller.
Their really no reason to have the case filled with fans usally 2 front intake and one rear exachust is all thats needed unless you start pumping over 500 watts into the PC.

for a 650 you can put alot. Well under normal circumstances you can max out the fans in a case. For instance if you case is a Mid tower some mid tower can have a max 5 Case fun + 2 more if your on a dual tower heat sink.

And as what Zerk mentioned. The fans can be connected to your mother board chassis fan ports, how many depends on your mother board the socket will support 3-4 pin fan connectors you can also you Y cables too. Then you can also directly connect your fans on your PSU via Molex connectors and or buy Fan controller that can also connect multiple fans (usually you connect the fans of your case to the fan controller to control how fast they are going to regulate the amount of air that goes in as intake and goes out as exhaust).

First qustion is, why do you want to use 5 fans? Fans use up very little power, but 5 fans unless you know you need them will just add up to more noise. Even a gaming system can make do with 2-3 case fans in many cases (plus the CPU and power supply fans ofcourse).
