Im getting a pc off DinoPC due to my lack of knowledge of pc and due to work. It will containthis
Intel I7 4790k OC to 4.3ghz
8gb Vengeance Ram
Nvidia GTX 980 4gb
650w corsair power supply
120 SSD
1TB hard drive

Is this build good enough to run todays games such as BF4,Ryse,Dragon age,Evil within and Watchdogs at 60 fps at 1080p. Im also hoping to run the new Witcher when it comes out. What is everyones opinion. Should i change anything

Everything looks good except you might run into problems with your power supply not being able to run all your components during a gaming session.

Power supply is fine. GTX 980 uses nearly half the power, of what my HD 7970 uses.

980 GTX Minimum 500W Power Supply, The power supply is fine as long as your not overclocking everything.

they are right. PSU is kinda short .. go for 700w or 1,000 if you have the money :D  when overclocking

Very strong looking system it should keep you in gaming for years to come without any issue. I don't think you even need to over clock it. Enjoy the system it looks impressive. For a GTX 980 they recommend a 520w power supply so a 650w should be okay as long as it is a true 650w. If you don't mind me asking what kind of monitor are you going to be using?

650W would be the bare minimum with your setup. That's why I was saying you may run into issues while running a graphics or processor intensive game.

the psu is just fine but if you think there might be a problem then get this

its quiet good and cheap

No need for a 700 or 1000w PSU for a single card and overclocking. A 750w if you want to SLI in the future. The system will only be about 352w with a GTX 980 and a 4790k, 517w with 2x SLI, using PCpartpicker. With GTX 970 and 980, super high wattage PSU's are totally unnecessary,

I would recommend 750w+ for the PSU.

The GTX 980 has a max TDP of 165W.

Add 250W to run (fry) every other component with OC, and you still wont be using more than 450W.

I doubt your pre-made PC even comes with an SLI supported board to use all that extra power.

The power supply in that system is a CS 650w gold. It is plenty for this system. Overpaying for unused power is a bit crazy. You do not need more than 750w for a gaming rig with GTX 970/980 in 2x sli, even if overclocking the CPU a measly 300mhz.

Well i get to pick the MOBO so was going to go with GIgabyte Z97X gaming 5. Does that suppport SLI

Great. Well i may get 750w for future proofing maybe

Yes the Gaming 5 supports SLI. You will have to ensure the PSU has enough PCIE connectors to run two cards if you intend to SLI.

600W is sufficient to run a system with two 890's, although you might need a 650W unit for the PCIE connectors.

Looking at the website, the system that offers a 4.3ghz overclock comes with a gigabyte z97x gaming 3. It supports SLI. Too many assumptions in this thread. OP, if you think you will do SLI, in the future, step up to the CS 750, as it isn't that much more.

Best solution

October 13, 2014 9:37:52 AM

ashleygratton the system is fine with that psu like what "logainofhades" is constantly saying
i suggested a psu that would end all the speculations but it did no damage to the conversation.. the psu you have already is enough but if you feel like going a bit higher then feel free to upgrade to the one i linked earlier.. anything higher will be if you want a psu to hold up even more hardwares that are yet to be installed

Thanks everyone what ram speed is best for gaming. It comes with 8gb corsair 2133mhz vengeance. Is that to much i normally see gaming pc have 1600mhz. Also considering i am overclocking it to 4.3ghz is a Corsair 55 water cooler enough or from the list is there a better one

the standard for gaming is 1600mhz and that cooler is just fine for the system... anything higher than 1600mhz is only better ..

Well that is something you should go to the store and look at yourself. So your happy with the picture. IPS gives you the best picture, but IPS panels are not that fast. For Asus you could look at VN248H-P, VS239H-P, or a PA248Q which has 1920 x 1200. For SAMSUNG S22C300H and S23C350H. I'm not sure what models are available in your area.
