Why is it that the seagate barracuda disk inside the FREEAGENT DESK (external hard disk) when connected to motherboard directly doesn't shows up anywhere.
My external hdd's power adapter had gone bad so i removed it's drive from the cover and tried using it as internal but it just won't run at all.Any help !!!

Do you have a SATA power cord connected to it? Also, you might have to format is sense it is not running via USB anymore. (Unlikely, but possible)

yes i have connected the HDD using the SATA cables and during boot the computer doesn't boots up and also it shows constantly blinking screen.
and if connected after computer is ON it just doesn't shows up anything.
AND 1 MORE THING I was kinda using this HDD as my only backup device so all my data is on it .so i just can't format it mate. :(

If it was the only copy of your data then its wasnt a backup, it was primary or main storage.
A backup is a second (or more) copy of important data.

Sorry but it sounds as if the dive is dead. Fzabkar needs the model# of the drive to possibly have a quick fix for you but I urge you to make a backup copy of your data as soon as you can, even if you have to use dvd's.

WELL, thanks for ur rply on the problem but the fact is that the hdd isn't dead its just that the power adapter of my hdd which somehow became dead .i tried fixing it but couldn't so i pryed open the casing of my hdd and took out the hdd inside to use it as internal but it didn't work as i thought it should.on the boot menu it showed the size of drive to be 2 MB ?????.
