Recommendation for replacing Xfinity's TC 8305c Modem/Router Combination

This modem/router combo provided by Xfinity is crap. It seems that the network drops randomly even if the weather isn't bad. At first I thought it was just my computer, but my parents said they had issues too, so it has to be this device provided by Xfinity or the wiring.

I also bought a new 802.11ac wireless adapter, so I would like some recommendations on a new Modem & Router setup that can provide the ac standard.

I have used motorola my entire IT career and love them to this day. I'd go with this one:

Hahaha. I was just looking at that. And the older ones (SB6141 and SB6121).

So I guess it is more efficient to just get a combo Modem/Router instead of a seperate Modem and Router.

I've read that the tc 8305ac firmware contains the ability to put the device into Bridge mode. So I am able to just try a router with ac standard. I wonder if that would help or not.
