Hello

I have recorded a few of my lets play Dishonored videos for my new youtube Channel but 15 minutes of game-play set at half size at is 5-6gbs. Youtube takes 4 hours just for one to upload due to the size and my internet speed, i'm lucky to get 3-5mb/s.

Could you recommend a program that can compress video files, i remember my Dad had a software bundle by called Nero on WinXp that did lots of this stuff but it doesn't work with Win7

Thanks

You can use any video editing software - I use powerdirector .

Save the file in MPEG-4 format for best compression without massive loss in quality

If you are not editing the video you could consider using Handbrake or MPEG Streamclip to compress the files. Both are free downloads.

I am using Handbrake but it is lowering the quality. How do i keep it to 1080p, it makes the videos 480p because how drastic the compressing is, they don't look as good on youtube. How do i make Handbrake keep the 1080p.

Thanks

Have you changed any of the settings or did you use the default settings?

You shouldn't be using such an obsolete recorder. Use a more modern one that uses less resources like like obs. The different codecs it has might give you a file size that is much more manageable and you don't have to waste time re-encoding with handbrake.
