Dell Fan running real loud HELP

So i was kinda curious to see what my dell t5400 would do. i saw a 120mm fan and then it had a 5 pin connector. i took it out to see what the pins are (and the pins itself) then plug the pin back in the SAME ORDER but when i boot it up it says "MEMORY FAN FAILURE" and the fan is running real loud. HELP PLEASE

Sounds like you could of static shocked the board, try reseating the fan again but discharge your self and make sure the system is off, if it continues update the bios of the board if it continues after that you could be looking at a bad board or fan.
