Hey guys, I was looking to purchase this monitor:
http://www.amazon.com/MX279H-27-Inch-Screen-LED-Lit-Mon....
Everything looks good but I need some reassurance on one thing, and that would be resolution. Does a 1900x1080 res look good on a 27 inch monitor? I am at a close viewing distance, so I don't want the picture to blurry/eye soring. I have visited multiple threads but I haven't gotten one conclusive answer, only arguments.

I got a sharp 46'' hdtv @ 1900x1080 and looks dang good to me sure is hard to go to a smaller screen size from it I go from it to this 19'' monitor and its just hard

gaming on 46'' way better then 19''

I have a 1080p 27" and really wish I had gone 1440p. I find text is really not that sharp at all, I will end up buying a new monitor which is a shame as the other one is only 6 months old. However I am lucky and my eyesight is quite sharp.

Mines actually a high end one http://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/lg-27MT93V

My complaint is quite common with 1080p monitors at 27"and above

I don't have it but just google blurry text with windows and see where it may come from

just cause you say or it is high end don't mean it works as high end - on that can fall in to hype of a product

I have looked farther into the MX279H and it is getting some good reviews, and claims for sharp clear pictures at close viewing ranges. The minimal ghosting and 5ms response time is highly favorable to me. Going for a 1400p monitor costs almost twice as much, but the MX279H will be a fantastic upgrade for me. Thanks for the suggestions guys. :D

ya well its like this I got a few monitors and hdtv used as a monitor and I can go to the goodwill thrift store and pick up a monitor for 10 bucks that's as clear as one new for 250 bucks yhat sharp hdty was 1300 bucks when it first came out what may be blurry to him may be fine and clear to you

bottom line is you don't know what you got intill you use it and see if it meets your expectations or falls short

100 people may say its the best thing to have and great but you may get it and feel they must not know what there talking about - you may be unlucky and get the 1 in 1000 lemon of the batch
it all a roll of the dice and personal preference of your needs all you can do is the best you can with the info you can find and go for it

I believe most of the people saying that 27" 1080p looks blurry are those coming from 27" 1440p, I get the impression this kind of thing is something you notice because its not what your used too.
For instance I have been using 24" 1080p screens for so long I probably would notice the massive difference in PPI.
