My AMD display driver keeps crashing and then recovering whenever I'm watching YouTube videos, especially if I'm watching a playlist. I've already checked and the driver is up to date. I have no idea what to do and this is getting really frustrating. Please help me out.

You can try reinstalling the driver. AMD drivers are known for being buggy. Your computer could also be overheating. Especially the graphics chip. When a graphics card/apu is failing, the driver seeming to fail and recover is common. What I would do with your APU is shut your system down, let it cool a bit. Take off your heatsink and fan, remove the processor, remove the old thermal past from the processor. Apply new thermal paste to the processor in a quality brand such as Arctic Silver, put it all back together, and retest to see if that resolves the issue. Microcenter has tubes of Arctic Silver for $7.99 and at Radioshack for $13.99, if you don't happen to have a Microcenter near your location. Use 90% pure alcohol to clean the processor of the old material using cotton swabs. Use a hard plastic card, such as an old gift card that is no longer of use, to spread a thin layer of the new paste.

I hope that helps.

Thank you very much. I'll try reinstalling it, and if that doesn't help I'll call up a tech buddy of mine and see if he can reapply the thermal paste for me. I don't trust my skills enough to do it myself.

I had the same thing with my R9 290 and Driver 14.9. What fixed it for me was a Bios update, and I simply reinstalled the driver (didn't uninstall) in case it missed something. Also, update your Chrome/Flash player/Shockwave Player.
I think it was the Bios update for me, since it hasn't happened since that, but good luck, tell me if you find the cause
Also, driver 14.9.1 is out now, supposed to work better for some people.

Excellent answer. Sometimes a complete driver uninstall/reinstall will miss something that was in the previous driver package! I, also, usually leave the present drivers in place and update "over" them.
